Lauren was raised on both sides of the Atlantic—the US and the UK—where she has had the great pleasure of constantly being surrounded by domestic and wild animals. Her beloved pets ranged from dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, chinchillas and a lone rat name Chloe; whilst her gardens were teaming with deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, pheasants, moles, voles and even coyotes!
Since moving to Hong Kong in 2004, she’s had the distinct pleasure of putting this overwhelming love for animals to good use. Lauren has volunteered for Animal Asia’s Professor Paws program and initiated corporate sponsorship for the organization with Citi in 2007. Moreover, she has adopted three extraordinarily special tong gau dogs whom she frequently refers to as her daily dose of “sunshine”. In addition to finding the occasional strays (she’s lost count of the kittens!) and homing them, Lauren would simply like to make this world a friendlier place for everyone around us—large or small, furry, scaly, or even scary! It’s for this reason that she is particularly interested in spreading the popularity of trap-neuter-spay programs in addition to stopping the use of fur in the fashion industry.
