Adoption Success Stories     What happened to the Urgent Animals in Need?

Below are some success stories for the animals posted on the Urgent Animal in Need page.  Only one animal at a time will ever be posted and they will remain on the site until they are adopted or other suitable arrangements are made.

Enjoy the heartwarming stories and photos, but remember to check this site for the animal that still needs a home and is our current Urgent Animal in Need.

Many thanks,

Gum Gum-

Gum Gum started as our first Urgent Animal in Need.  Surrendered by his family at 9 years of age (9 YEARS!!!) Gum Gum was difficult to place.  Malnourished, arthritic, skin infections and advanced age made this old boy a pretty desperate homing case.  After nearly a year of waiting, a wonderful woman stepped forward and offered Gum Gum a home for the remainder of his life.  Gum Gum has been given a second chance at a time in his life when many people would have suggested his life should be ended.

Bless the hearts of those who realize "you're never to old!"

Boris (Bobo)-

Surrendered by his family after 3 years, Boris was left with the SPCA in quite a state.  Not having any obedience training and starved for attention, Boris' manners were non-existent.  Unfortunately his behavior bordered on aggressive and his chances of being homed became increasingly difficult.  Challenged with how to help Boris, this lucky canines life was changed by his foster dad.  Experienced with animals, Boris' foster dad gave Boris what he needed.  For the first time, Boris not only had a loving home but he got the exercise and behavior training he so desperately needed.  It soon became clear that a strong bond had occurred between Boris and his foster dad and happily the two of them decided to be a permanent family!  As you can see from the before and after pictures, Boris and his dad are very happy together!

Princess-

From an abused and neglected life where she was left on a balcony to starve to death, this St. Bernard has found happiness!  After a prosecution of the former owner, Princess rehabilitated at the SPCA for nearly 9 months.  Although she was ready for adoption only a few months after arriving at the SPCA, her size was a deterrent for most people, until...

Just a few weeks before Christmas 2008, a family hearing about Princess decided to go to the kennel to meet her.  One meeting was all it took and Princess and her new family immediately started their lives together!  Princess is finally living the life she deserves and sharing her time with her new Mom and Dad, 2 boy children and 2 girl children, and her very own cat and Bull Dog!  Princess got her much deserved happy ending.
